Does anybody know what happened to that wonderful TWA MD-80 painted in the colors of the St. Louis Rams? She was so cute. I hope she wasn't scrapped. I forgot her registration.

I don't recall a Rams MD-80. There was a Rams 727 with the nose painted like their helmet, and later the same type of scheme was applied to a 757.

Just the 757 and 727 were painted in the Rams Livery. Both are still flying....

The 727 registration ended in -47, and since TW had 'zip code' registrations (five numbers after the N), I can't recall the other three. It was one on the 727-231s delivered to TW well into the 70s. I got to ride on her in 1997 from FLL to STL.

I thought the TWA RAMS aircraft was an MD-80 but I can't locate my photos. I am very dis-organized; it probably was a 757 or 767.

I think the aircraft with the RAMS livery was a B-757 after all. I saw it in 2001, I believe. Its registration is N709TW and has since been re-painted into the standard AA Livery. I can't recall AA ever painting any aircraft with a special livery.

Hi N64347 (B727-231) was the 1st A/C with the "helmet" 1996-1999: N709TW ("7509" - B757-2Q8) was the next with the Rams helmet (up to mid 2001???): Regards/Elmar
