Really enjoy this site! Therefore, I am delighted to have this opportunity to say thank you to all of the flight crews that flew me safely on TWA from 1968 when I first rode the CV-880 from Newark to STL via Baltimore through the merger with AA.
I rode on 880s, 707s the original TW DC-9-15s as well as the OZ DC-9-10s-30s-40s-80s, the former EA DC-9-50s, TW's MD-80s-81s-83s, of course the 727-100s/200s, the L-1011s, the 747-100s/200s (STL-HNL FL 1 and FL 2 six times) the BRAND NEW 767-200ERs to London, the BRAND NEW 757s, 767-300s. My only regret besides TWA being gone is that I never flew the 717s!
Wow, how the world has changed. I could fly STL-ICT-STL on B707-320s in the early 1980s, now the best you can do is an AA Eagle EMB-140! I sure do miss TWA!
Thanks again to all the TWA flight crews and espcially to the crew that got that L-1011 back on the ground safety back in 1982 on a red-eye from LAX-STL. It seems the left engine decided to blow apart on the take-off roll. The crew did their jobs well and got us back down okay after dumping fuel over the Pacific.

Hello 777 and other TWA lovers;
What's really bad now is that I think I'm going though a bad of the withdrawls. TWA was a family away from my regular family. The TWA employees made me feel at home no matter what class of service I was in. I was luckly to fly in TWA 717, it was sleek. The seats in Coach were a bit better than other airlines. The flight I was on was the inaugural for the 717 livery with TWA. The only prop type plane I flown on with TWA was a Super Connie. I have been on most of what you listed. I don't remember the CV-880. Yes, of the other airlines, AA is the closest to the TWA feel but they are distant. Since we have flown on Trans World Airlines, I'd say that we are in a special group of travelers who have been blessed. If he wasn't so crazy, I'd like to see Howard Hughes back now (with correct interpersonal skills) with Jack Frey as the President of TWA.
Take care.
