Hi. Just wondering if anyone has any info on TWA 747SP service- such as city pairings, the SP's role in the TWA fleet (compared to the Tristar & B747-100/200), and experiences flying aboard TWA 747-SPs. Thanks.

As I remember it in the 90's they were used ORD-LHR and we only had maybe 2. They went to AA who used them for JFK-BRU. They were origionally built for PA for use on Pacific flights.

Hello what I know we had 3 SP´s - B747SP-31 with reg´s N57202 (17202) - N57203 (17203) and N58201 ("Boston Express"). Those A/C where used e.g. to LHR, CDG, TLV, LAX, ATH and even BCN. This was between 1980 and 1986. N57202 ("17202") continued live at "Jet Associates International", next AA (N601AA), Kazakhstan Airways and ended airline life by 1998/1999 with Star-Air/Air Atlanta Icelandic. The final way was to the scrap yard at Luxemburg-Findel Airport. One part is still "alive" - great parts of the Maindeck maintained intact and where transported to Germany for training purposes. N57203 ("17203") - up to 1986 with TW - continued at AA as N602AA (especially the DFW-NRT Service) up to 1993/94, next and known last is/was "Dubai Air Wing" (United Arab Emirates) - I think as VIP version reg A6-SMM - could still be in use like the "sister bird" N58201 ("17201"-"Boston Express") 1980 through 1984?? - next user again "Dubai Air Wing" (United Arab emirates) as A6-SMR and still alive and flying... I never have been flying on those beauties - neither TW nor any other airline. Regards/Elmar
